Origins and Formation

Creation: The group THE GIPSY BAND was formed in 2003 by Matthias Malhé and his cousin.

Inspiration: Matthias draws inspiration from his years spent in Arles and his encounters with the Gipsy Kings, a famous Gypsy music group.

Evolution and Career

2003-2015: The band gained popularity, performing primarily in Normandy and the surrounding areas.

2015: They opened for "Les Andrews" in Normandy, marking a turning point for the group.

2016: Despite a busy schedule with over 50 concerts, they began recording their first French-language album.

2017: Released their debut album with the singles "Baila Morena" in January and a second single in March.

2018: Participated in the "Romane Dyvesa" festival in Gorzów, Poland, broadcast on the national TV channel TVP2. Invited by Polsat TV to perform on New Year's Eve in Katowice before 60,000 people.

Collaborations and Projects

Juan Vicente Abardonato: Collaborator and musical arranger for the Gipsy Kings and Chico & The Gipsies, working with The Gipsy Band on their projects.

Frédéric Andrews: Continues to play a crucial role in musical arrangements and keyboards.

Discography

First Album: Released in early April 2017, featuring primarily French-language tracks.
